When one of your best friends works at Free People, you take advantage of it. One Friday afternoon I forced my friend Bella into a photo shoot. She works at the Free People at Lenox Mall in Atlanta, therefore she has plenty of great clothes to choose from. Downtown Athens provides the perfect backdrop to any photoshoot.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit my best friend over fall break. Rachel attends the University of Miami, so the options of what to do were endless. After going to classes with her that day we ventured to Wynwood, a really neat art district in Miami. The entire area is covered in art, but one place in particular caught my attention, The Wynwood Walls. Rachel had told me about this place and how it is the go to spot for instagram pictures or new cover photos, so obviously I needed to check this out. The walls did not disappoint, I was incredibly impressed with how these walls were brought to life by the different artists' works - they were able to execute such beautiful art at such a large scale. I recommend taking the time to check out the website and read about the different artists, but be careful because it's easy to get lost on the site for a few hours. If you are ever in Miami pay a visit to Wynwood, other than the awesome walls, there are plenty of great shops and restaurants as well.

October is a weird time for weather in Georgia. One day its in the fifties, the next it is in the high seventies. This can present a difficult challenge when transitioning into your fall wardrobe. Therefore this is the prime time to wear your sleeveless turtlenecks, cause I know you've all got one hidden away in your closet.

If we are being honest, I truly think I bought this sweater as some sort of sartorial challenge for myself. It is such a great knit and color, that I could not resist, but in reality it is hard to style something that keeps your neck real toasty, but your arms are freezing

Jeans - Joe's

For my first attempt at wearing this sweater I decided to keep it simple, just some good old jeans and boots.

I paired it with this Free People necklace.

Athens is known for its music scene, many musicians and bands got their start here and new and upcoming acts are always performing around town. The band R.E.M. started in Athens and there are a few landmarks that still stand solely becuase they were part of album artwork. For these photos I ventured to the train trestle featured on the back of R.E.M.'s album, Murmur.

I love getting to explore the rich culture of Athens. When people ask why I did not go away for school I tell them it is because there is still so much of Athens for me to explore, experience, and learn about.

Hopefully this sleeveless sweater will make more appearances in my Athens adventures. I'm going to challenge myself to wear it four different ways, let me know if you have any ideas.

Spring has made its way to Georgia, along with large amounts of pollen and runny noses. One change that is noticeable about myself, other than my red itchy eyes, is how I have been wearing a lot more floral and brightly colored clothing. My wardrobe has made the change from gloomy grays and blacks to vibrant splashes of color. Here are a few of my favorite spring outfits I have worn so far...

Dress - Free People
I wore this dress to Lawn Dance, which is my sorority's field party. Funny enough I actually bought this dress in the Fall of 2013, but I feel like it's meant for Spring. If you can't tell, I got a little sunburnt that day and had a nice rectangle across my chest.

I got these pants for my Birthday and I am in love. I do hate them sometimes though because they keep getting under my shoes, I haven't decided wether or not I want to get them hemmed. Also fun fact, I have started parting my hair in the middle and so far the response seems good, but let me know if you think otherwise.

Dress - Asos
Necklaces - Kendra Scott
I have recently renewed my high school obsession with Asos, and I've been wondering why it ever ended. I just got this dress this week and love it. It is so cute and comfortable.

Taylor's Top and Shorts - Free People

Last but not least, Happy Easter everybody! This dress also came from Asos this week and it is great. I feel like I'm wearing a giant t-shirt, who doesn't love that feeling. I hope everyone is having a splendid Easter Sunday and is taking the opportunity to wear their bright clothes!

I feel like tassel and fringe is a very boho look, so I thought why not look at the brand that is all about boho, Free People. I decided to take stock of what items have fringe on them. Free People has an abundant selection of items with tassel and fringe, from bags, shoes, sweaters, skirts, to even necklaces. You can see these items in the photos above. I am not going to go into too much detail about those items, because I am here to talk about fringe on jackets, and man Free People did not disappoint.

Right now most of the jackets with fringe that they offer are very expensive, and definitely not within a college students budget. This is because they are real leather.  Nevertheless, it is definitely clear that Free People considers jackets with fringe to be in style. More and more jackets continue to appear on their site. This makes me think that they will eventually start producing some vegan leather fringe jackets that are more affordable and will help the trend catch on. Click through the pictures for the links.

Free People also features a few vests with fringe.

This jacket is by far my favorite. It is from their vintage collection, meaning that this a vintage jacket that they found. I would love to add this classic jacket to my wardrobe.

Happy almost Valentine's Day! I do not have any special plans except cuddling with my dog, but I hope that your V-Day meets your expectations!  I really need to step up my photography game, but here is an outfit I wore recently, photographed in Downtown Athens. I feel like we have sort of skipped winter and moved onto a chilly spring here, even though we are supposed to have freezing rainy this coming week, but I highly doubt it. This odd weather presents a challenge of what to wear, you want to be warm because it's chilly in the mornings and night, but during the day it's warmish. This outfit was a great solution because of... wait for it... layering! I also like wearing a dress with palm trees on it in the middle of winter, it feels like I'm breaking some rules.

After getting back in the groove of going to classes it was refreshing to have a break this weekend. My family and I went to Atlanta for the weekend, for a day of shopping and stuffing our faces with food from Yeah! Burger and Sprinkles Cupcakes. The rest of the weekend was spent catching up on Downton Abbey with my mom, time very well spent if I do say so myself.

I am thankful for growing up in Athens; It has that small town feel, without being too small, along with the convenience of being an hour or two away from Atlanta, a place with great shopping and even better food. If you live in Atlanta and have not ventured to White Provisions please correct this mistake immediately. This little shopping district is so great! It has plenty of shops to entertain your wallet, ranging from Anthropologie, Free People, Jack Spade, and even a Factory Girls store. And then it has restaurants that will delight your taste buds; Yeah! Burger and Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams to name a few.

When we go to Atlanta, I like to dress up a little bit. I wore my Portobello Road dress with black tights to provide some "warmth," you know cause tights apparently do that. To accessorize I added this suede fringe collar, and my key piece for the day, this shaggy jacket. My dad told me I looked like a rocker from the seventies and then proceeded to call me Mr. Baker the whole day, in reference to the coat Ginger Baker wears on the poster for the documentary about him. Thanks dad... But you know when you own something like this jacket, you've just got to embrace it or you will never wear it. I had to do just that. So call me Mr. Baker all you want, but I'm never taking it off.

Here I am posing in front of the Anthro store front

What is it about seeing the word SALE that makes one feel that they must buy something. Don''t lie, we're all guilty of doing this, I am especially guilty. When I see that word or the warning that it is the only one left in stock I suddenly get this nervous feeling in my gut and my palms start sweating and I think I MUST BUY THIS. I had this panicked feeling the other day and made a purchase that now has me like, "What was I thinking?" I bought a velvet high neck bra; at the time I was like this will be great, but now I have no idea how I'm going to wear it. One of my favorite things about the Free People website is that people can post photos of how they style different pieces. This always helps when I'm not sure how to wear something or if I need new ideas, but of course there are no style pics for this bra.

So far the only idea I have come up with is styling it with different tops and sweaters that have low necks or come off the shoulders, even still this has to be executed the right way for it to work... You could always just wear it and nothing else, if you're into that kind of stuff.

Seriously let me know if y'all have any good ideas of how wear this, I'm going to try to wear it soon and I'll let y'all know how it goes.
Let's be honest, I've been sucking at this blogging thing, but as of right now I decided that one of my New Year resolutions is to start blogging consistently. To start I'm just going to show y'all some of the outfits I've worn recently.

What would be more appropriate than to show y'all what I wore on New Years first! Here I'm wearing a Free People top I got for Christmas, that unfortunately I can't find on the website. I decided to wear a black tank underneath for a little edge and I wore a black lace bra that unfortunately you can't see in this picture. I borrowed my sister's necklace and wore HUE black leggings, the fancy thick ones, and some black Frye boots that clearly blend into the background in this picture.

On the first day of the New Year I decided to dress a little more for comfort, after partying the night before, lol I just went to a concert. I wore the Dylan Tweedy pullover in ice blue and the patchwork sweater leggings, along with the same Frye boots from the night before. Here's a cute pic of me and Sadie chilling in the car from that day. Oh, also I'm just going to be honest with y'all, these leggings are so cute, but probably the worst quality item I have ever purchased from Free People. Holes keep appearing up and down the seams, and at first I though it was just cause I am bit a curvier than others (careful word choice there...), but once I read reviews I realized that wasn't the case because even people with twigs for legs were having the same problems.

As I leave you with the last outfit, I'll also leave you with a funny story. So this past Tuesday my family went out to dinner in downtown Athens before we headed to a concert. What concert you ask? Well we thought it was going to be the Acapella group Straight No Chaser. Turns out it was another band called Straight, No Chaser. Notice the comma... They were there playing for a fraternity benefit and apparently tons of people kept asking "isn't there supposed to be an acapella group?" and proceeded to leave once they found out the truth. Despite this disappointment it was a great opportunity to wear my new Shaggy Jacket and this great tunic. Aaaaand once again the Frye boots and Hue leggings. Clearly I only have one pair of black boots.

I guess this is a decent start to my New Years Resolution, even though it took me 9 days to post... Fortunately I'm finally taking classes for my major in Fashion Merchandising so hopefully I'll have some interesting stuff to post about soon.

A couple weeks ago was my birthday and I got to spend it in the happiest place on earth, Disney World! It was my sister's spring break so my family was already at Disney. I flew down after my classes on Friday and on Saturday we went to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Unfortunately my mom had gotten a stomach virus earlier that week and was still very sick on Saturday, so she could not go to the parks with us. My dad, sister, and I explored the parks and ate a lot of food. Needless to say it was a great birthday.

Hanging with Mickey the Magician, the best part was that he could actually talk!
Both my top and my sisters are Free People.

I love the blue and green around this bird's eye and beak.

Hanging with King Triton. Taylor looks like a model.

On to Epcot where the Flower and Garden Festival was happening, which means plenty of flowers and food!

Disney's version of the cronut, it was delicious.

The best birthday "cake" ever!
If you cannot tell, it was a great birthday. I am so thankful that I got to spend it with my family in one of my favorite places. It's hard to believe that I am 19, but I cannot wait to see what this year has to bring.

P.S. My candles were sparklers!
